Connecting neighbors, creating a community in Mar Vista
In the spirit of the MVNA mission, we are forwarding a message from a representative of the
LA City Neighborhood Initiative
so that you can make a connection with them and
have your voice heard in shaping our neighborhood.*
Hello, my name is Anna Apostolos with the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI) and I am project manager for the Downtown Mar Vista Beautification project. This project will discuss, prioritize and implement pedestrian improvements based on community feedback that we hope you will engage in and invite your friends to participate.
The Downtown Mar Vista Beautification project is sponsored by Councilmember Bonin and Los Angeles Department of Transportation. LANI and its partner, Studio 111, are asking Mar Vista stakeholders to prioritize and provide feedback on potential element installations such as street furniture, wayfinding and public art. I cordially invite business owners, stakeholder groups, and residents to participate and have a voice in shaping this project in the neighborhood.
We will be holding a virtual meeting Thursday October 29th at 5:30pm (RSVP here) and an onsite booth at the Mar Vista Farmer’s Market on November 22nd from 9am to 2pm (RSVP here). Additionally, you can contact me by email at anna@lani.org or by cellphone, 714-928-4922.
It would be much appreciated if you could share this information with your friends and neighbors in the Mar Vista. Thank you and please feel free to contact me with any questions.
*Please note that MVNA is not involved in the Downtown Mar Vista Beautification project. Our sole purpose in passing along this information is to inform our neighbors of the opportunity to individually take part in the process of building our community. Please contact Anna Apostolos directly if you have further questions about the project.
